Dental Appliances

Night-Guard: A custom-made appliance that fits your teeth comfortably to prevent bruxism.  Bruxism is a habit  of clenching or grinding the teeth. There are a few symptoms of Bruxism such as, headaches, sore jaw, toothaches and even loose teeth. Bruxism can develop at any age.  Stressful situations, sleep disorders, an abnormal bite and crooked teeth may be responsible.  This appliance helps to keep the teeth apart and prevent wear on the surfaces of the teeth.

Splint: A special custom-made appliance that is fabricated at a dental lab to treat TMD symptoms and extreme cases of bruxism.  TMD is the dislocation or soreness of cushions of the temporomandibular joints involved with opening and closing the mouth and chewing. Signs and symptoms include: pain around the ears, headaches, clicking or popping when opening the mouth, tender jaw muscles, or even trouble opening the mouth. A splint holds the jaw in a comfortable position and eases the symptoms of TMD.

Snore Appliance: A custom-made appliance that is worn at night to prevent snoring.  Snoring is a sign of restricted airflow and impeded breathing during sleep, which can result in excessive day-time sleepiness, cause a higher rate of headaches or adversely affect the sleep quality of the snore's bed partner.  The appliance works by opening the bite and gently advancing the lower jaw with interchangeable elastic straps to increase airway space.

Sleep Apnea Appliance: A custom-made appliance to treat the obstructive sleep apneas. Sleep apnea is usually diagnosed by sleep test done by a medical physician. This appliance takes the place of a C-Pap machine (machine worn during sleep to treat sleep apnea). Sleep Apnea occurs when the airway completely collapses and blocks airflow into the lungs. The appliance holds the lower jaw in a forward position so that it does not shift nor fall during the night. Also known as TAP 3 Appliance.
